This evening our MD visited the Coral Escalmo Mojacar a traditional Spanish choir. David our MD and Peter our Event Organiser attended their choir rehearsal to develop a relationship between the two choruses in a hope that we can perform together in a future concert. Our MD was made most welcome by maestro Pedro of the choral. The choral is made up of both male and female singers plus a band of instrumentalists. They perform traditional Spanish music and seem to enjoy the whole music making activity. Maestro Pedro told us he has the usual issue of needing more male voices to join the chorus. Something all choruses tend to need these days. Also he usually has more instrumentalist so in addition to the guitars, mandolins and double bass there is also violin and flute to accompany the singers. All being well a joint/split concert will be arranged by the end of the year to encourage a musical union of two choir cultures. Something that should be good and enjoyable for both choruses and audiences alike. Keep an eye on our events page for forthcoming events as this will be one not to be missed! for more information about Coral Escalmo Mojacar visit their Facebook page.
